Our Team

Jinny

(she/her)

Owner/Teacher

Jinny is a mom to two endlessly creative, wonderfully messy kids—which means she has plenty of firsthand experience with glitter, big ideas, and projects that somehow take over the entire house.

Before Bunny Ears Art House, Jinny spent more than a decade as a public school teacher, earning a Master’s in Education and a degree in Communications from Boston University. She’s always believed that kids are naturally creative and curious—and that the best learning often happens when you give them the freedom to explore, experiment, and make a glorious mess.

From 2020–2022, Jinny traded Chicago for Seoul, South Korea, where she trained with a master designer in the art of making hanbok, traditional Korean clothing. Naturally, she came home with an even bigger appreciation for textiles, craftsmanship, and all things handmade.

Jinny is also a proud, self-proclaimed serial crafter. Sewing is her first love, but she’s always jumping down a new creative rabbit hole—pottery, crochet, collage, embroidery… if it involves making something with her hands, she’s probably into it.

And if you’re part of our local creative community, you may also know her from Tailorbird Fabrics, the fabric shop she co-owns right across the street from Bunny Ears. So yes, she really did manage to turn her two favorite things—kids' creativity and fabric—into neighboring businesses.

At Bunny Ears, Jinny brings her love of teaching, making, and a little bit of beautiful chaos together to create a place where kids can get curious, try something new, and discover just how much they can make themselves.

In her free time, Jory enjoys baking and cooking, and spending time with her husband and their lovable dog, Moose.

Jen

(she/her)

Camp Director/Teacher

Jen is the creative mastermind behind our incredible camp programs and a dedicated teacher for our older students at Bunny Ears Art House. An artist and educator with experience working with people of all ages, she especially loves helping children grow and thrive in their creativity.

With a BFA in Oil Painting, Jen's artistic passion also extends to watercolor and gouache, often drawing inspiration from nature for her work. She has spent the past 8 years managing camps and extracurricular programs in schools—bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our studio. Outside of teaching, Jen shares her art at markets and shows around the city. See her amazing work here: https://www.jenadamsartist.com/

In her free time, you’ll likely find her with a book at a cozy coffee shop or enjoying life with her family.

Esme

(they/them)

Weekend Manager/Party Coordinator

Esme is delighted to join Bunny Ears Art House as our Party Coordinator and Studio Manager. A transdisciplinary artist and multi-instrumentalist based between Chicago and Istanbul, Esme holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, with a focus in Fibers and Material Studies and Art and Technology/Sound Practices. Their work spans printmaking, weaving, photography, sculpture, sound, and installation.

Esme is passionate about creating spaces where children can explore, experiment, and find joy in the creative process, believing that play is a powerful form of learning. When not at Bunny Ears, you might find Esme at an art show, a local music venue, or shamelessly jamming at a music store.
